Whats The Deal???April 25, 2011 - 5:26 PM
Sorry to everyone who has been checking the website and facebook page, only to find that nothing has changed and nothing has been happening. Some things came up and I had to put the music production on hold for a bit. Everything is ok, and things are almost all sorted out and I will be back in the studio to continue working on the 4th single next week.
So what's the deal with Daniel Mac?
Wouldn't you like to know? Well too bad.......what?......oh.........well my manager has just informed me that I am required to provide you with some interesting nuggets of information regarding my personal life. Let's see… I live in Boston, MA. I grew up in a small town south of the city called Norfolk. Assuming we are not going to count the week of saxophone lessons I took in the 3rd grade or the singing Mariah Carey in the shower phase I went through at age 13, I started playing music my junior year of high school, when I picked up my father's old acoustic guitar. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe a G chord was the first thing I learned, mmmhm, its a good one (and I must add that that little bastard took me more time to get down than I would like to admit). After I mastered the crap out of the G chord, it all just started to flow and come together pretty easily from there and I realized that there wasn't much else I wanted to do with my life than try to make those 6 strings and box of wood produce some pleasant and enjoyable sounds.
After high school, I done gone and gotst me a fine book learnin education at St. Michael's College in Burlington, VT. Great school and beautiful area, if you've never been, I highly recommend you plan a trip. Make sure you get a sandwich at the Red Onion on Church Street if you do go there. Anyways… yeah, after college, I moved back to Boston where I have resided humbly with my instruments and dog for the last few years.
What do I like to do other than play music? I am a BIG skier. I love pretty much anything in the cold or snow. Audio engineering has becoming a big hobby of mine. It started because I didn't have the money to get into the studio, and it turned into one of my most prominent passions. I also like mountain biking, video games, watching movies, taking pictures, the occasional night of drinking with friends 'till the sun comes up and trying desperately to kick my addiction to buying guitar pedals. I also occasionally attempt to successfully use the Force and become a Jedi. (so far, the success of that last one has yet to be seen, but I'll keep you all posted if there are any breakthroughs). Ok, that's enough about me. Please go buy my songs, I have to pay rent soon…
